The S3 Standard

A broader perspective.
A practical direction.

S3 assesses how your destination operates, welcomes its guests and cares for the marine environment, then helps you plan what comes next.

Why S3

A framework for the whole destination.

The quality of a marina, yacht club or sailing school extends beyond its infrastructure.

The quality of service, the skills of its teams and its relationship with the sea are just as important. S3 assesses these dimensions together to identify strengths, understand risks and set priorities for improvement.

The standard supports marinas, yacht clubs and sailing schools from early design and development through to daily operations.

S3 combines document review, strategic interviews and an on-site assessment to understand your practices in the context of your facility and its stage of development.

The assessment scope identifies the facilities and activities covered by the recognition.

02

Targeted recommendations

Practical recommendations based on the strengths and gaps identified.

03

An improvement roadmap

An action plan to organise priorities and guide your team’s next steps.

Developed by M3 Monaco

A destination perspective
behind the standard.

M3 Monaco develops the S3 Standard and brings experience in maritime destination development and operations.

Its consultancy work spans the creation, development, management and promotion of marinas, yacht clubs, sailing schools and waterfront projects. This experience helps connect the assessment with the realities of running a destination.

Building on existing certifications

S3 draws on existing certifications and labels to provide a broader view of the destination. S3 recognition is also a prerequisite for affiliation with La Belle Classe Destinations by Yacht Club de Monaco. That affiliation follows a separate process.
