A new reference for smart and sustainable maritime destinations

At the sixth Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous, organised by M3 Monaco, five international destinations received the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Standard (S3) Label. The announcement highlights their commitment to sustainability, operational excellence, guest experience and innovation.

Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina — Regatta

In Saudi Arabia, Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina is recognised for its engagement with local communities and protection of the marine environment. Sailing programmes for children and marine turtle protection initiatives connect community engagement with biodiversity. The marina also serves as an international gateway for yachts navigating the Red Sea.

Port de Saint-Florent — Flagship

Set within a preserved natural environment in Corsica, Port de Saint-Florent is recognised for the quality of its operation and a longstanding commitment to improvement. Continuing projects support the next stage of its development. The destination illustrates the value of a long-term vision and sustained effort, whatever a port’s size or resources.

Ayla Marina — Sovereign

In Aqaba, Jordan, Ayla Marina brings together vision, engineering and environmental responsibility. The coastal development integrates two lagoons, beaches and an international marina. Environmental initiatives focus on protecting marine life and creating habitats that support coral and biodiversity.

AMAALA Yacht Club — Sovereign

On Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, AMAALA Yacht Club integrates architecture, nature, operational excellence and environmental responsibility from the design stage. With contributions from Foster + Partners, HKS and M3 Monaco, the wider project brings together a yacht club, marina and sailing school around the preservation of marine ecosystems. The announcement highlights coral reef and biodiversity protection and describes a fully decarbonised fleet of boats and nautical craft.

Yacht Club de Monaco — Sovereign

Yacht Club de Monaco is recognised for an approach combining yachting excellence, education, innovation and environmental responsibility. Its activities connect an international membership, marina, sailing school, La Belle Classe Academy and international events. The Club’s SEA Index helps the superyacht sector measure and reduce its carbon footprint.

Recognition as part of continuous improvement

These five destinations represent different models and trajectories. The S3 approach gives destinations a framework to measure performance, identify areas for progress and define the actions needed for their development. Beyond recognition, M3 Monaco’s ambition is to accompany a lasting transformation of the maritime destination sector.
