Smart & Sustainable Standard
A better marina starts with a clearer view.
Bring environmental performance, everyday operations and the welcome you offer into one improvement journey. S3 helps marina teams understand how these priorities work together.

Your priorities, viewed together.
Manage the waterfront responsibly
Connect water quality, waste, biodiversity and resource use to the routines, records and responsibilities that support them.
Make the guest journey consistent
Review arrival information, reception, services and feedback across the experience of owners, crews and visiting boaters.
Invest where it matters
Use findings on asset condition, navigation, energy and operational continuity to frame the next decisions with your team.
Eight pillars. A complete view of your destination.
An environmental initiative, a service standard or a digital tool only tells part of the story. S3 brings eight complementary areas into one assessment, with evidence relevant to your activities and your stage of development.

From assessment to decisions you can act on.
Understand your position
A structured review of evidence and practices highlights strengths, gaps and the reasons behind the findings.
Set your priorities
Recommendations connect findings to improvement opportunities. An action plan helps organise responsibilities, priorities and next steps with your team.
Build lasting progress
Recognition is valid for three years. The aim is to support continuous improvement, rather than make the label an end in itself.
Recognition depends on both the overall score and the minimum score across the eight pillars. The applicable thresholds are presented in the journey and levels guide. Flagship and Sovereign, the two highest levels, are a prerequisite to apply for La Belle Classe Destinations by the Yacht Club de Monaco; admission is a separate decision.
Ayla Marina: explore a recognised destination.
Discover Ayla Marina in Jordan, its official S3 announcement and the published results available on its destination page. A real destination offers a useful point of reference; your own scope and findings will reflect your facility.
Start with a conversation about your facility.
Discuss your activities and objectives with M3 Monaco, agree the scope, then prepare the evidence needed for assessment. Your existing certifications can inform that discussion; they do not automatically determine an S3 level.
Does S3 replace an existing marina certification?
S3 provides a broader view across eight pillars. Discuss the scope and evidence of your existing schemes with M3 Monaco: a Blue Flag, Gold Anchor or ISO certification does not automatically confer S3 recognition.
Where could your next improvement begin?
Explore your starting point with the free, indicative self-assessment, or introduce your project to the M3 Monaco team. The self-assessment does not award a label.
